3Com Corp., the world’s No. 3 maker of computer networking equipment, said its third-quarter sales fell more than forecast because of slumping North American demand.
Sales in the three months ended Feb. 28 totaled $240 million to $245 million, 3Com said, compared with about $268 million forecast in December. 3Com had sales of $355.9 million in last year’s third quarter.
Shares of the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company fell 39 cents to $4.11 on Nasdaq.
