School Board Will Meet With Bond Committee

The Santa Ana school board will hold its first joint public meeting with the district’s Bond Oversight Committee at 6 p.m. Wednesday at district headquarters, 1601 E. Chestnut St.
The school district is under pressure to build schools and expand existing ones with funds from a $145-million bond measure passed by voters in 1999. Some bond committee members have criticized the district’s progress.
The committee will then meet Thursday to discuss construction and renovation at 14 schools. The 6 p.m. public session will be held at Romero-Cruz Elementary School, 1512 Santa Ana Blvd.
