Billy Tubbs returned to basketball Thursday, becoming Lamar’s coach again while keeping his job as athletic director.
Mike Deane, who was 52-62 in four years as the school’s coach, will be reassigned, Lamar President James Simmons said.
Tubbs coached Lamar for four of his 28 seasons, turned Oklahoma into a national basketball power in the 1980s, then helped Texas Christian improve its program. He has a 595-297 record
