U.S. Seeks $31.6 Million From Air Carrier

The federal government is demanding that FedEx Express repay $31.6 million in funds received after the Sept. 11 attacks, saying the company overestimated losses.
But company officials in Memphis say it hasn’t been compensated enough, and is seeking an $18 million balance of the $119 million promised as part of $5 billion given to help the industry recover after Sept. 11.
