A getaway that’s easy on the wallet

Finally a Weekend Escape (“Staking a Quiet Corner of Stark Anza-Borrego,” March 16) that does not raise my blood pressure as high as the costs of previous escapes.
I don’t know the demographics of the average Times reader, but I feel that most Weekend Escapes are not in line with most budgets.
Catharine Hamm’s article on London (“London in a Weekend Whirl,” March 16) was great, and I was almost out of breath with her on the whirlwind trip. That was a worthwhile weekend escape.
