Now for the Main Event: Vijay vs. Annika

Take a look in the mirror, Vijay. The PGA did not allow players of color to compete in its tournaments as late as 1961. I am sure that, at the time, there were white golfers who argued that players of color would take white men’s spots in the field.

Finally a PGA pro with enough guts to tell Annika Sorenstam to get lost, or at least to miss the cut at the Colonial. Vijay Singh said what the majority of other men pros have been thinking for months: Don’t pair me with a woman. That’s exactly what all of us “hackers” were thinking: Imagine a woman outdriving you by 75-100 yards.

Kudos to Vijay Singh for having the guts to publicly say what is so obvious. Women have no place on the PGA Tour. They have their own tour and that’s as it should be. How would women feel if such stars as Tiger Woods or Nick Price applied to compete on the LPGA Tour? I am guessing their whining would be deafening. Sorenstam should get off her publicity-seeking crusade and keep to the women’s tour. She is making a charade of sports.
