7 Family Members Killed in Kashmir

A shepherd and six family members were killed with axes in a remote mountainous village in the Indian portion of the Kashmir region, police said. Police suspected that the shepherd’s family was targeted by separatist guerrillas because two of his sons are in the Indian army and one is a policeman. The three were not home at the time of the attack, which killed the shepherd, four women and two children.
