Two dogs used to smuggle cocaine fell ill when packages of drugs inside their stomachs burst during a flight from Colombia, Dutch police said. Police at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, where the plane had stopped over on the way to Britain, said the Labradors each had 4.4 pounds of cocaine surgically attached to their stomachs.
They were taken to a veterinarian. A police spokesman said surgery was performed. Seven people in Britain were arrested.
