More Wildfires Erupt in Northern California

Still battling a midweek siege of lightning-sparked wildfires, officials contended Friday with a new spate of blazes.
At least 40 new fires were spotted in remote parts of Sonoma, Lake, Napa, Lassen, Modoc and Siskiyou counties, a state spokeswoman said Friday.
