Faces of the Recall

Since August, Times staff photographer Brian Vander Brug has traveled the state photographing candidates in the recall election. Vander Brug gave each one the opportunity to bring a prop or adopt a pose symbolizing his or her candidacy. The candidates also provided short statements, excerpts of which accompany their pictures. The Times plans to publish Vander Brug’s photographs of the candidates over the next two weeks.
