Man Found Dead in Possible Arson-Suicide

Ventura firefighters responding to a house fire early Sunday discovered the body of a man inside a gutted garage in what authorities believe was an arson-suicide.
When firefighters arrived about 3:15 a.m., the house in the 1000 block of Bangor Lane was fully engulfed, Ventura police said. A separate fire burned in the detached garage at the rear of the property.
The man’s identity was being withheld, pending notification of relatives. Both fires were intentionally set, authorities said. An investigation is continuing, but police said the incident appears to be the result of a suicide.
