Foothill Blaze Is Nearly 50% Contained

Two firefighters were injured, a building was destroyed and 250 people were evacuated in a 600-acre fire in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada near Colfax over the weekend.
The blaze was 50% contained by Monday morning. One firefighter broke his leg and another was treated for heat exhaustion after battling the blaze that started Sunday afternoon, according to a spokeswoman for the state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
