The hard part of acting

Bravo to Michael O’Neill!
The thought of paying a veteran actor scale is absurd [“The Conversation,” Nov. 28]. The increasing inequity of the business of not paying actors their quotes has only hurt the morale of each of us who for years has contributed moments in movies and TV that people remember and enjoy. No one is asking for a handout from anyone, but to respect the working actor with fair payment practices to lessen the struggle and keep us in the business of entertaining.
