Eventually the Fiscal Engine Will Seize Up
- Share via
The Senate passed a $447-billion defense spending bill (June 24), and Bush has never not signed a spending-and-debt bill. Fiscal responsibility has gone out the window. Now it’s spending and debt for our children and grandchildren. How long can this go on before the system breaks? At least the liberals were a tax-and-spend group and not a spend-and-debt group that dumps the debt on the future generations.
Remember a few years ago when we had a surplus of $100 billion and were paying down the Reagan/Bush debt? Now it’s a debt of more than $400 billion per year. Republicans and the neocons will ruin the economy yet. It’s like driving a car and never changing or adding oil. It runs great until one day the engine freezes up.
