Citigroup Chairman Was Paid $44.7 Million

Citigroup Inc. Chairman Sanford Weill, who stepped down as chief executive last year, was paid $44.7 million last year, almost five times more than in 2002.
Weill, 71, received a $29-million bonus, $1 million in salary and option grants worth $14 million, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. He earned $9 million in 2002, including $7.4 million in stock options.
