Immigration Reform in U.S. Unlikely This Year

Several Mexican and U.S. lawmakers said that it was highly unlikely that the U.S. Congress would pass an immigration accord during this highly charged election year.
Migration was one of the major issues for 31 U.S. and Mexican legislators as they launched a two-day meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico, on issues of importance to the two nations. Terrorism, trade and Mexico’s opposition to capital punishment were also expected to lead the agenda.
