U.S. Diplomat Says Racists Attacked Him

An American diplomat said he was severely beaten Saturday by a group of skinheads while in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, because he is black.
Robert Simmons serves at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Uzbekistan.
“I was attacked because I am African American. They did not touch my friends who were there with me but were not black,” Simmons said in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
