The sophomore tailback rushed for 180 of his 220 yards in the second half and scored three touchdowns to help the 18th-ranked Sooners defeat Tulsa, 31-15, at Norman, Okla.
With Oklahoma’s passing game struggling -- the Sooners didn’t attempt a pass in the second half -- the plan was to give the ball to Peterson.
After Tulsa took a 9-7 lead in the third quarter, Peterson took over. He accounted for all 58 yards -- including a one-yard touchdown run -- on the ensuing drive when the Sooners regained the lead.
