Women’s Publication Banned, Paper Closed

Iran ordered the closure of a daily newspaper and banned a women’s publication in the first media crackdown since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became president in August.
No reason was given for the moves, but a journalist at the economic daily Asia said it had been warned about printing photos of women deemed improperly dressed. Nour-e Banovan, aimed at women, had not yet been published.
