Francis’ Knee Hurt in Trojan Practice
USC freshman point guard Ryan Francis bruised his right knee Monday during a collision with a teammate and could not finish practice. His status is listed as day to day, and he will undergo precautionary X-rays today.
“He’s a tough, tough cat,” Coach Tim Floyd said. “When he goes down, the building goes quiet because he never goes down. He might get down, but he bounces right back up. But he stayed down and couldn’t finish practice.”
Francis, whose steal in the final seconds helped preserve the Trojans’ 71-66 victory over Washington State on Saturday, is averaging seven points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
