Authorities ordered prominent Syrian writer and prodemocracy activist Michel Kilo released on bail after more than four months in detention, a human rights group said.
The National Organization for Human Rights in Syria said in a statement that Kilo would be free to go home after his family posted bail.
Kilo, 66, was among a dozen activists arrested in May after signing a petition calling for improvement in Syria’s relations with Lebanon. He also has called for reforms in Syria.
