Coach of Year: Steve Calendo, Newhall Hart No team put together three consecutive playoff victories that were more impressive than those by Hart, which beat Los Alamitos, Oxnard Camarillo and Norco in succession with only three seniors in the lineup. The Indians (26-7) lost to Camarillo, 8-0, on May 5, but they were downright dangerous when it mattered most. Hart ultimately fell short, losing, 1-0, in the Division I final to Foothill League rival Valencia, a star-laden team whose coach, Donna Lee, deserves praise as well.
