Carriers add $10 fuel surcharge

AMR Corp.’s American Airlines, Delta Air Lines Inc. and Continental Airlines Inc. joined UAL Corp.’s United Airlines in adding a $10 charge on U.S. round-trip fares to help offset a 55% surge in jet-fuel prices this year. The surcharge covers leisure fares and business tickets purchased less than 14 days before travel.
