Re “Fresh face or old-school player?” Sept. 8
Reading this article on Sen. Barack Obama’s ethics felt like grasping at straws. Particular questionable instances are dragged out, while his essence and reform actions are glossed over. I understand the desire to knock someone off a pedestal, but Obama’s record has earned him his place.

Old-style politics say that we must accept harmful flaws in the systems we have created because change will ruffle feathers. On the other hand, a fresh approach sees that our infrastructure will actually be strengthened when we acknowledge and correct what does not work. Obama’s new-style leadership will hand us the opportunity and tools we will need to construct a better future.
