* Colorado 11, at Houston 5: Troy Tulowitzki had two doubles and three RBIs, Garrett Atkins had an RBI single and a two-run homer and the Rockies won less than 20 hours after winning a 22-inning marathon in San Diego. The Rockies arrived in Houston about 8:30 a.m.
* Milwaukee 5, at Cincinnati 2: Ben Sheets dominated for five innings, yielding only two singles, before a tight pitching arm forced him from the game. He felt tightness in his right biceps and left for a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning with the Brewers leading, 5-0.
* at Chicago 3, Pittsburgh 2: Reed Johnson hit a tiebreaking single during a three-run fourth inning as the Cubs sent the Pirates to their third consecutive loss.
* New York 6, at Philadelphia 4: Johan Santana yielded three runs and four hits in seven-plus innings, outpitching Cole Hamels in a matchup of two of the best left-handers in the majors. Hamels gave up five runs -- four earned -- and eight hits in seven-plus innings.
* Washington 6, at Florida 4: Nick Johnson hit a three-run double and drove in four runs, helping the Nationals end a three-game skid. Washington, which had lost 12 of 13, scored only five runs in being swept by the Mets.
* at St. Louis 11, San Francisco 1: Matt Cain absorbed the worst beating of his career. The 23-year-old right-hander yielded nine runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.
* at Arizona 9, San Diego 0: The Padres fell behind, 6-0, in the first inning and offered little resistance to Dan Haren, who gave up three hits in seven innings.
* at Atlanta 6, Dodgers 1: Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer off Derek Lowe in the fifth and a solo homer off Chan Ho Park in the seventh.
