Bush bashing or a worldview?

Re “Bush is a hypocrite, some Arab observers say,” Aug. 17
The Times gave a third of a page to the anti-American Egyptian newspaper Al Badeel, apparently just so it could pleasurably write the words “Bush is a hypocrite.” While The Times and the Egyptians believe otherwise, the minimally educated know that the circumstances of the Iraq war and Russia’s encroachment into Georgia are a galaxy apart (try 16 U.N. resolutions against Saddam Hussein).
My advice is that the next time The Times needs a “hate G.W.” fix, try quoting Iran’s Jomhuri-e-Eslami daily. They hate the U.S. even more than the Egyptians.

Why limit this opinion to “some Arab observers”? I suspect that a worldwide poll would find that a goodly percentage of individuals living almost anywhere in the world, including the U.S., share this opinion. Through his arrogant policies, pronouncements and actions, Bush has bankrupted U.S. moral authority so completely that it will take years, if not decades, to rebuild.
