* Cleveland 118, at Orlando 111: Larry Hughes scored a season-high 40 points, and LeBron James had 29 and 10 assists for the Cavaliers. Hughes scored 23 points in the third quarter on six-for-seven shooting. Orlando, despite five double-figure scorers, lost its second straight and third of a five-game home stretch before the All-Star break.
* at Golden State 120, Washington 117: Stephen Jackson scored a season-high 41 points, making the go-ahead three-pointer and getting 10 of the Warriors’ 12 straight points in the final minutes to cap a comeback from a 23-point first-half deficit. Washington was outscored, 15-4, in the final three minutes of its eighth straight loss.
* at Philadelphia 84, Dallas 76: Andre Miller had 21 points, and the 76ers held the Mavericks to 23 second-half points in winning their fourth in a row to move half a game behind New Jersey for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Dallas, which scored 10 points in the final quarter, missed 13 shots in a row spanning the third and fourth quarters.
* at Houston 95, Portland 83: The Rockets won their seventh in a row behind Yao Ming’s 25 points and seven rebounds. Rafer Alston scored 13 of his 17 points in the third quarter, when the Rockets began to stretch their one-point halftime lead in sending the Trail Blazers to their fourth loss in the last five games.
* San Antonio 93, at Toronto 88: Manu Ginobili scored a season-high 34 points and had a career-high 15 rebounds to help the Spurs improve to 5-3 on a nine-game trip and avenge an 83-73 Dec. 28 loss to the Raptors. Ginobili’s biggest rebound came in the final 20 seconds off his own miss with the Spurs clinging to a three-point lead.
* Clippers 96, at Milwaukee 89: The Clippers finished their seven-game trip 3-4 and avoided being swept by the Bucks in a season series for the first time since 1999-2000.
* Lakers 106, at Charlotte 97: The Lakers never trailed in improving to 4-1 since acquiring Pau Gasol and moved to 6-2 on their nine-game trip.
