Israeli troops ended a four-day sweep of suspects and munitions caches in the West Bank town of Nablus on Saturday, and residents confined at home during the operation began to venture outside to survey the damage.
But violence continued in the Gaza Strip, where militants fired 26 mortar shells and seven rockets into Israel, the military said.
One Hamas police officer was killed late Saturday in an Israeli strike in a part of northern Gaza, and three other Palestinians were critically wounded, according to the Gaza health ministry.
