Gonzaga has little trouble with Pepperdine

Austin Daye scored 19 points and Matt Bouldin had 16 points and six rebounds as Gonzaga beat Pepperdine, 92-57, in a West Coast Conference game Monday night at Malibu.
Daye made seven of eight shots from the field, including two three-point baskets.
David Pendergraft had 14 points and Josh Heytvelt scored 11 with seven rebounds for the Bulldogs, 13-4 overall and 2-0 in the WCC. The Bulldogs improved their winning streak to four.
Gonzaga -- which never trailed -- led by 23 points at intermission, then kicked off the second half with a 10-point spurt.
With five minutes left, the Bulldogs’ lead grew to 38 -- its biggest of the game.
Tyrone Shelley scored 15 points and had four steals for Pepperdine (6-12, 0-2), which has lost six out of seven.
The Bulldogs blazed out to a 20-point lead just eight minutes into the game, and, when the first half ended, they led 50-27.
Jeremy Pargo had eight assists and six steals for the Bulldogs, who outrebounded the Waves, 43-30.

Loyola Marymount 73, Portland 68 -- Shawn Deadwiler scored 16 points and Orlando Johnson and Corey Counts each had 14 at Gersten Pavilion as Loyola Marymount ended a seven-game losing streak.
The Lions (4-14, 1-1) won for the first time at home in eight games this season.
The Pilots (6-11, 1-1) dropped to 4-8 on the road.
Deadwiler, Johnson and Counts combined to score 33 of Loyola Marymount’s 46 second-half points.
Counts made all six of his free throws in the final 1:28 to seal the victory.
Deadwiler’s basket with 10:47 remaining gave the Lions a 51-45 lead.
Portland cut the lead to 57-55 with 6:12 to play on a basket by Kramer Knutson, but the Lions’ defense stiffened and the Pilots didn’t score another basket until just over a minute to play.
Tim Diederichs also scored 12 points for the Lions. Robin Smeulders led the Pilots with 16 points and Nik Raivio had 14 points.
Jared Stohl’s three-pointer at the buzzer gave the Pilots a 30-27 halftime lead.
