A body believed to belong to the last of four children who were allegedly thrown from a coastal Alabama bridge by their father was recovered, authorities said.
The body was found in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana. Authorities in Mobile were not yet able to confirm whether the body was that of Hannah Luong, 2, but they ended their search.
The search began Jan. 8, after prosecutors said the father confessed to driving the children to the bridge and throwing them into the waters. Lam Luong later recanted, claiming two women took the children and never returned them.
Luong, 37, is being held without bond on capital murder charges.
