‘Elephant’ postponed

Playwright Donald Margulies’ planned second Southern California premiere of the season will have to wait: The Geffen Playhouse is postponing the early summer run of the Pultizer Prize winner’s drama, “The Elephant in the Room.” The play concerns a woman photojournalist trying to adjust after being seriously wounded while covering the Iraq War.

There’s no word yet on rescheduling the show, or what the Geffen will put in its June 25-July 27 slot. Margulies’ lighter-hearted “Shipwrecked! An Entertainment -- The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told by Himself)” premiered last fall at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa and is currently having its east coast premiere at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, where the playwright lives.
