Service all wet

Re “Hawaii Ships’ Woes May Set Off Waves” [Travel Insider, March 2]: My wife and I were on the Pride of America last year for a week around Hawaii. The service was horrible. Our cabin was never once cleaned correctly They didn’t take out our trash for three days. No shampoo. No towels one day. The food was mediocre. It is so sad that a U.S. crew can’t match foreign crews.

Our weeklong cruise on the Pride of Hawaii was stressful. Norwegian Cruise Line’s problems can’t be blamed exclusively on the 75% American crew. The NCL management is responsible for this product, and they should own up to it instead of trying to blame their crew. As a passenger, I was nickeled and dimed the whole week. Ridiculous systems, poor training and poor management were evident throughout the trip. If NCL goes out of business, it will be no surprise to me; I’ll just be curious whom they’ll try to blame.
