Boy, 13, is held in attack, robbery

A 13-year-old Moreno Valley boy was arrested Sunday on suspicion of breaking into the home of an elderly couple this month, beating them severely and raping the woman as she lay unconscious.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the couple’s Pride Lane home March 1 when a neighbor said the couple were unconscious.
Police said the 13-year-old and a man broke into the apartment in the early hours of the morning.
They first went to the couple’s bedroom and demanded money before beating the couple, police said.
The pair then stole various items from the apartment and the couple’s car, which was recovered two days later, police said.
