Faculty senate wants leader out

West Virginia University’s faculty senate demanded that WVU President Mike Garrison resign over the awarding of a degree to the governor’s daughter. An independent panel determined she had not earned the degree.
The college cannot rebuild its reputation, the senate said, until Garrison leaves. Garrison has repeatedly said he will not resign. He has support from the board and Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin III, who appointed most of the board.
