U.S. attack draws official protest

Pakistan protested to the U.S. ambassador over a Wednesday missile strike at suspected militants far from the border with Afghanistan, and a militant group threatened to target foreigners unless the attacks stop.
Pakistan said U.S. missile strikes undermine public support for fighting insurgents and violate the nation’s sovereignty.
The Foreign Ministry summoned U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson to protest the strike, the second time she has been called in since August.
