Pirates hijack chemical tanker

Somali pirates seized control of a chemical tanker in the Gulf of Aden, and a NATO helicopter gunship picked up three security guards who jumped into the sea.
France and Germany, which have naval ships in the area, sent aircraft after receiving a distress call from the Liberian-flagged ship, a French military spokesman said. But within 15 minutes, the pirates had boarded and taken the crew of 25 hostage.
