Former Enron Corp. Chief Executive Jeffrey K. Skilling has been denied a request for the entire federal appeals court in New Orleans to review his conviction for leading the fraud that destroyed the world’s largest energy trader.
The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals also denied Skilling’s request for the panel that upheld his conviction last month to reconsider his case, according to an entry on the court’s online docket.
Skilling, who was convicted in May 2006 of 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud, insider trading and lying to auditors, is serving a 24-year sentence in federal prison in Colorado.
