Re: Michael Hiltzik’s column “Split tax roll has a lot of appeal,” July 13:
The column should have been on the front page. Hiltzik demolishes the lies that Proposition 13 was a homeowner tax cut and that fixing it would kill business. Who would want to establish a new business here, knowing that Proposition 13 advantages a neighboring competitor with a lower tax rate? Talk about a jobs killer.
