Good payment record didn’t help

Re: David Lazarus’ consumer column “Getting around credit card reform,” July 8:
I too received a letter from Bank of America stating I no longer had a fixed rate of 12.99%. I have two credit cards with the bank that were originally with MBNA (since 1998).
I was laid off in September but was frugal with card use and paid on time -- so this does add more financial stress.
