Three people were confirmed dead and two were missing after a Navy helicopter crashed off the San Diego coast, officials said Wednesday.
The crash occurred late Tuesday night as the HH-60 Seahawk was on a training mission flying off the carrier Nimitz about 13 miles from San Diego near the Coronado islands.
Three bodies were recovered during a search by the San Diego Harbor Police, Navy, Coast Guard and Mexican Navy. But a daylong search failed to locate the other two people.
