at New York 4, Boston 2: Andy Pettitte and the Yankees completed a sweep of the Red Sox for their 100th win and wrapped up the AL East title and home-field advantage throughout the postseason. New York, which missed the playoffs last year, earned its first division title since 2006.
at Kansas City 4, Minnesota 1: Zack Greinke (16-8) burnished his Cy Young credentials, and the Royals prevented the Twins from moving to within one game of AL Central-leading Detroit.
at Chicago 8, Detroit 4: The White Sox won for only the third time in 11 games. The Tigers had won five of six.
at Toronto 5, Seattle 4: Rod Barajas hit a go-ahead double in the eighth.
at Cleveland 9, Baltimore 0: The Orioles have lost 10 straight.
at Angels 7, Oakland 4: The Angels ended their first four-game losing streak of the season.
