Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer head Gary Barber has listed his oceanfront property in La Jolla at $26.95 million.
Entered through a gated courtyard with a fountain, the Mediterranean/Monterey-style columned estate was built in 1999 and sits on nearly half an acre.
The more than 9,800 square feet of elegant living space includes a paneled den/media room, a large eat-in kitchen, a secondary kitchen, a gym, six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Arched ceilings, windows and passageways are incorporated throughout the house.
Panoramic views take in the ocean and coastline. There’s even an ocean-view shower and stand-alone tub in the master bathroom.
A swimming pool with cabana and extensive water-view terraces complete the grounds. Steps lead down to the beach below.
Barber co-founded Spyglass Entertainment. He is the chairman and chief executive of MGM.
The property last sold five years ago for $16.115 million, public records show.
Andrew Karigan of Teles Properties and Ross Clark of Willis Allen Real Estate are the listing agents.
