Nominations for the 88th Academy Awards, to be announced in two parts, are scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. (Pacific) today with animation, documentary, cinematography and several other crafts categories. At 5:38 a.m., the acting, directing, picture and other categories will be announced at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. “The Revenant,” “The Martian,” “Spotlight” and “The Big Short” are among the films many are expected to be nominated for best picture.
