‘The Newsroom’: Live chat with Jane Fonda today

Join veteran actress Jane Fonda, who racked up an Emmy nomination for her recurring role as tough-as-nails Leona Lansing on HBO’s “The Newsroom,” for a live video chat today at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time.

The two-time Oscar-winner made her debut on the polarizing drama in the first season’s third episode -- mostly being seen, not heard (she didn’t say a word for nearly 50 minutes!). Since then, the actress has established her character, the owner of the fictional network parent company Atlantic World Media, as a staunch Republican (!) who finds herself constantly having to police the news team staff -- particularly Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) -- when ratings wilt and right-wing funders’ feathers are ruffled.
