Even festivals have to pay their bills or deal with the consequences. This week the city of Los Angeles shut down Silver Lake’s Sunset Junction Street Fair when organizers failed to produce a check to cover this year’s expenses. The concert series started 30 years ago as a way to unite gay and Latino communities in Silver Lake, but eventually grew beyond that. No word yet on whether Sunset Junction will be back next year.
