Audience members enjoy the food after a concert. Chili -- big, bubbling pots of it -- is served with cornbread; it’s all made by series host David Bunn’s sister and brother-in-law.

As for that chili: The aim at Deep End isn’t just to put on a show, but to generate a bit of face-to-face neighborliness between musicians and whoever else happens to show up.

The food draws a crowd at Deep End, where more than six dozen people piled into the farmhouse for a May 24 concert.

Host David Bunn says the series is “a way of using this place.” He adds that he and wife Ellen Birrell “didn’t move out here to be two people in a big space. We really wanted to share it.”
