Amtrak train hits vehicle near Union Station; no injuries

An Amtrak train traveling toward Union Station collided with a vehicle Friday night, but no injuries were reported, officials said.
The train struck the vehicle shortly before 6 p.m. near the intsersection of Main and Wildhardt streets, about one mile northeast of Union Station, said Lt. Lester Trull of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Transit Services Bureau.
No one on the train or in the vehicle was injured, said Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten. It was unclear whethre the driver was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The incident prompted minor delays on Metrolink’s Ventura County and Antelope Valley lines, Lustgarten said.
The Los Angeles Police Department will investigate the incident.
