Police seek public’s help in man’s fatal shooting in Boyle Heights

Los Angeles police detectives asked for the public’s help Monday in finding the person who fatally shot a 25-year-old man over the weekend in Boyle Heights.
The shooting of Ramon Gerardo Vera occurred about 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of East Olympic Boulevard, police said in a statement.

Investigators said Vera was shot multiple times with a 12-gauge shotgun in a parking lot of an apartment complex. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Detectives said they believe the shooting was gang-related.
