L.A. County sheriff investigating homicides in Compton and South Gate

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two homicides that occurred in the southeast county overnight.
The first occurred in Compton around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, after a man was shot to death in the 15800 block of South Frailey Avenue. The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
A second man was gunned down early Friday morning in South Gate in the 8600 block Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Sheriff’s Department, which is assisting South Gate police.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene around 1:30 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Department.
