A man was fatally stabbed by a co-worker at the Wilshire Country Club in Hancock Park on Thursday night and a suspect has been taken into custody, authorities said.
The victim, Emmanuel Bravo, 28, of Los Angeles, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Los Angeles police Officer Aareon Jefferson.
An argument broke out about 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the kitchen area of the country club, where Bravo was an employee, police said.
A man pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Bravo, then ran from the scene, said LAPD Lt. John Radtke.
Erick Antonio Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of murder about 11 a.m. Friday, Radtke said. Hernandez is being held on $2-million bail.
The country club is at 301 N. Rossmore Ave. Multiple employees witnessed the incident, but no patrons were in the restaurant when the stabbing occurred, Radtke said.
The victim and the suspect were involved in an ongoing dispute, but it was unclear what it was over.
“They just obviously didn’t like each other,” Radtke said.
